Here's the Story of Derek's Forged Racist Email

  1. On August 29, 1999, Derek posts a copy of the above email message without the KKK piece in it. He apparently forgets he posted this email because,
  2. On October 21, 1999, Derek forges the racist portion and puts it on a web site and posts it in the newsgroup.
  3. Trainman50 said that his email had been tampered with and he did NOT send it with the KKK piece in it.
  4. When the two versions are discovered. Derek claims that he accidentally left off the end of the post when he cut&pasted the message the first time. (Leaving off the most incriminating piece! Yea right!) This isn't reasonable since the KKK piece was missing out of the middle, not the end like Derek claimed, notice the sig.
  5. Dakatari got an email account at the same place that Trainman50 used and verified the size of the message indicated in the header indicates that the proper size of the message is the version without the KKK piece in it. Karl Mathias also verified this.
  6. Derek makes one more desperate attempt to salvage the situation by posting some screen shots of the forged email being displayed in his Eudora Pro. Derek's toady Dan claims that this couldn't be staged and challenges anyone to explain it. Two reasonable possibilities were proposed. First, Derek could just edit the message in his "*.mbx" file in the Eudora Pro directory. Second, Derek could have sent the forged email with expanded header to himself. There's some evidence that Derek used this inferior method. (He is the author of BC3K, of course, he would choose the inferior method.) Daktari points out that the scroll bar isn't all the way to the top even though the message window is supposedly at the top.
  7. Derek says that the scroll bar being in the middle has a very very simple explanation but, that he is going to wait 6 months to tell what it is.
  8. About 3 weeks later Derek gives the unreasonable explanation that a "virtual desktop re-sizing utility" made the scroll bar move down. There's no way that a "virtual desktop re-sizing utility" could add stuff to the beginning of the Eudora Pro message being displayed or make the scroll bar be in the wrong position! Derek has been asked the name of this magical utility many times. He will not give the name because obviously there is no such thing.

Here are the Discrepancies That Must Be Explained

  1. Trainman50 said that he never sent the racist portion of the email. Derek said he did.
  2. Derek posts two emails with identical headers and the bodies of the messages are also the same except for one of them has a racist KKK sentence added into it.
  3. The message length field is correct for the non-racist version. The message length field has an incorrect value for the KKK version.
  4. The scroll bar in Derek's Eudora Pro screen capture is not positioned at the beginning of the message even though Derek claims that what is being displayed is the beginning of the message.

 

Here's the Simplest and Only Complete Explanation
(The numbers below cross reference the discrepancy numbers above.)

  1. Derek is lying. Trainman50 is telling the truth.
  2. Derek forged the KKK sentence after he posted the original email message.
  3. Same explanation as above. This alone is actually enough to prove that the email was forged with additional text. Since Derek himself posted the original is allows us to verify without any reasonable doubt exactly what it was that was forged. Here's an excellent post with a very detailed accounting of every character in the two messages.
  4. Derek sent the doctored message with expanded header to himself. Derek then brought up the doctored message in Eudora Pro and moved the scroll bar down in order to hide the real message header.

 

Here's Derek's Explanation
(The numbers below cross reference the discrepancy numbers above.)

  1. Trainman50 is lying. Derek is telling the truth.
  2. He left off the bottom of the message when he cut and pasted it into his post. He never explained how the middle of the message was left out instead of the end of the message.
  3. He has never tried to explain this discrepancy.
  4. First he said to wait six months for the explanation then, he said that a "virtual desktop re-sizing utility" did it. This doesn't explain how the scroll bar is in the middle when what is supposedly being displayed is at the top of the screen buffer. Derek also refuses to name the utility that could mess up the Eudora Pro scroll bar. The obvious reason that Derek won't name the utility is because there is no such thing that could mess up the screen buffer internal to Eudora Pro. It's just another pathetic lie by Mr. Smart.

 

Here's Derek's Most Repeated Argument

Derek says he's telling the truth, he never doctored Trainman50's email. The proof that he's telling the truth is that Trainman50 never posted the original and has disappeared from the flame war. (Note: Mailcity does not automatically save email sent.) Daktari is just a disabled loser and the detractors have nothing better to do than to stalk and harass me. blah blah blah.

 

Conclusion: Derek forged racist email!
